Miscellaneous
Where Should I Put This?
The Miscellaneous section of Favorite Recipes serves as a repository for those recipes that don’t fit anywhere else. In addition to recipes, such as the bread recipe below, expect guides such as the air fryer guide below. Another forthcoming entry is a listing of favorite ingredients and kitchen tools. That said, check in from time to time. You just never know when more content might be added.
Granted the Miscellaneous section of Favorite Recipes is lacking content. That said, the bread recipe below is a multigenerational favorite and the air fryer guide is most helpful.
More Thoughts on Miscellaneous…
It is said that when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. According to Wikipedia.com, this “is a proverbial phrase used to encourage optimism and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune.” Yeah, whatever.
Personally, I have never been a big (or little) fan of lemons. And it seems, unless you specifically request otherwise, most restaurant staff insist on placing a slice of one in your water glass. I suspect they offer lemonade as a beverage option, so why serve a weak substitute for free? And just where has that lemon been lying about, just waiting to take a dip in one’s water glass? Yeah, I don’t want to go there.
Likewise, it seems that more and more recipes call for lemons. Squeeze them over your seafood, squeeze them over your vegetables, and squeeze them over your fruit. Squeeze them here, there, and everywhere. What is up with that?
And, let’s not forget lemon’s cousin, the lime. Squeeze him here, there, and everywhere just as well. And if that isn’t bad enough, shove him down the neck of your beer bottle. Seriously? Good freaking grief. Next thing you know, they’ll want me to use oil and vinegar for salad dressing.
