Artificial Intelligence (AI)
It Looks Real, How Can I Be Sure?
Sooner or later, the inevitable was bound to happen. As a result, in the spring of 2025, I started down the Artificial Intelligence rabbit hole, simply referred to as AI. I finally decided it was time I find out for myself what the entire hubbub was about. Granted, I don’t have a ten thousand word term paper on Quantum Physics due tomorrow. But I did want to understand Artificial Intelligence from a graphics standpoint.
I touched on AI in the Photography > Special Effects section. That said, Artificial Intelligence is in a world all its own. Hence this standalone gallery of images all created with AI. For a more detailed overview, click here. To begin, sometimes AI is simply used to enhance or alter a photograph. However, more and more, AI is used to create an image from little more than a text description, typically referred to as a “prompt.”
I used Microsoft Designer to create the first two images below and I used OpenArt to create the remaining images. Numerous AI platforms allow a limited number of images to be created per day or month at no cost. Conversely, other platforms offer various subscription options based on the number and the complexity of images per month.
More Thoughts on Artificial Intelligence…
It boggles my mind that very simple prompts can create very detailed images. While I am just beginning, intricate images created by others is way beyond boggling. As I travel further through the AI rabbit hole, I will revise the content of this page. I am already beginning to visualize my main character and the backdrops in which he will take center stage. Naturally, it should come as no surprise that my partner in crime will accompany me as I travel further through the AI rabbit hole. Yes, Albert will be my “model” as we journey through the make-believe land of AI.
